The University of Alaska’s statewide advertising campaign recently won six awards in two different national advertising contests.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education, a Washington, D.C.-based organization for people who work in the areas of alumni relations, university communications/marketing and development (fund-raising), recently honored the UA system with a gold medal award and two silver awards for the uareelworld.com advertising campaign.

UA received a gold medal for the entire uareelworld.com campaign, which included print, television, radio and Web advertising; a silver medal for three television spots; and a silver medal for a single print spot. The CASE awards follow the national Admissions Marketing Awards presented in February, in which the UA campaign received gold, silver and bronze medals in various categories, also for uareelworld.com.

The university oversees the statewide advertising campaign, produced by Nerland Agency of Anchorage.  A statewide marketing taskforce with system and campus members across Alaska helps guide the campaign. The annual advertising receives generous support from the nonprofit University of Alaska Foundation. To view samples from each year, go to http://www.alaska.edu/opa/media_campaign/index.xml.
