About the Office of University Relations
The University of Alaska Statewide Office of University Relations is responsible for
procuring state and federal funding and support for the entire University and is the
primary contact between the University, the legislature and the governor. This office
is also responsible for action on legislation that impacts the University. Statewide
University Relations facilitates external and internal relations and communications
for the entire University. The Statewide Office of University Relations works very
closely with the University President, the Board of Regents, the Chancellors and campuses,
the legislature, the governor and the public, and coordinates internal and external
advocacy efforts to promote support of University issues. The Vice President of University
Relations oversees Public Affairs, Government Relations, Strategy & Budget, Institutional
Research and UA Foundation.
The office is located in the Butrovich Building on the UAF campus and also maintains an office in Juneau near the state capitol building during the legislative session (January - May).
