Jim Johnsen Biography
Dr. Jim Johnsen was appointed to serve as the 14th president of the University of Alaska system on July 28, 2015.

The University of Alaska Board of Regents is an 11-member volunteer board, appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Alaska Legislature. The Board was established in the Alaska Constitution and is responsible for University of Alaska policy and management through the university president.
The Summit Team includes leaders of key functional areas throughout the university system and system governance bodies. Chaired by President Johnsen, the expanded Summit Team meets monthly for four hours via video and twice annually for full day face-to-face meetings.
