Media Advisory: University to Host “UA 101” Session for State Candidates

The University of Alaska will host an introduction to the statewide university system for state candidates during a “UA 101” session at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at the University of Alaska Anchorage campus.

The session will be held in Room 106 of the Commons building, Sharon Gagnon Lane, UAA.  Candidates running for public office have been invited to attend. A similar “UA 101” session will be held later in August at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

The purpose of the non-partisan sessions is to educate candidates on the university’s mission, programs and budget. The public and media are invited. UA President Mark Hamilton will attend.
