Author Margaret Wheatley To Address Women’s Conference

Noted leadership and management author Margaret Wheatley will speak at a free public lecture on the UAA campus in Anchorage next month as part of a conference on women in higher education leadership.
Sponsored by the University of Alaska, the statewide conference will be held Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14 on the UAA campus. Ms. Wheatley will speak at 7 p. m. on Friday, September 13 in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium. She is the author of “Leadership and the New Science” and “Turning to One Another: Simple Conversations to Restore Hope to the Future.”
The conference continues Saturday with speakers, panels, workshops and discussions on topics such as developing and supporting women’s leadership, opportunities for university leadership and educating for leadership.
The UAA Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence and the UAF Office of Faculty Development is organizing the conference in conjunction with UA Statewide.
The conference is free to all educators from all campuses of the University of Alaska,
Alaska Pacific University, Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka and Ilisagvik College
in Barrow, interested community members are also welcome to attend the Friday night
lecture and Saturday conference. Conference attendees must register at the website
