More Opportunity for Public Comment at Regents' Meetings

September 15, 1998  NR 22-1998

The Board of Regents of the University of Alaska is revising its meeting schedule to make it more convenient for the public to comment on the university and related matters during the board's regular meetings.

In Bethel, at the August meeting, the board scheduled public comment on Thursday morning, the first day of the meeting, prior to committee meetings, instead of on Friday preceding the full board meeting. Similar arrangements will be made for the October 1-2 meeting in Fairbanks, but public comment time will also be included Thursday evening for people who have commitments that make it difficult for them to attend meetings during the day.

In Fairbanks, public comment will be scheduled for Thursday morning, October 1 between 8 and 10 a.m., and again from 5 to 6 p.m.

As usual, the board's meeting agenda will be available for public inspection at all campus libraries approximately five days prior to the meeting, and will also be added to the Board of Regents' home page at : info.alaska.edu/ua/bor/

All meetings of the Board of Regents and its committees, except for executive sessions, are open to the public.
