University of Alaska and Faculty Union Reach Agreement

The University of Alaska and United Academics-AAUP/AFT announced today they have reached a tentative agreement for an initial three-year contract providing employment terms and conditions for over 700 faculty across the state.

The agreement provides for salary increments, innovative approaches to the resolution of issues, and several labor/management committees designed to enhance educational quality of university academic programs. Specific terms of the contract will be available after the contract has been ratified by the United Academics membership and approved by the university Board of Regents.
