Evening with Dr. Wood planned for June 23

FAIRBANKS-- Fairbanks and university friends of Dr. William R. Wood and Dorothy Jane are planning an evening with them on June 23 at Wood Center on the campus.  Dr. Wood retires as University President on June 30, having completed 13 years of service to higher education in the State of Alaska.  Arrangements are being coordinated for the affair by Don Bruce of Fairbanks and Bob Hilliard of the university.  Anyone desiring to help may call either of them.

Don Bruce indicated that "the evening's affair will permit many of the friends of Bill and Dorothy Jane to share a delightful evening with them, while honoring and saying farewell."  Hilliard noted that "a number of presentations will be made to both Bill and Dorothy Jane on behalf of their many friends, in both the Fairbanks community and the university community."

A no-host reception is planned for 7:15 p.m. followed by dinner at 8:00 p.m.

The public is cordially invited to attend, and tickets are available at the Office of University Relations, 479-7272.  Tickets are $12.50 per person.
