FAIRBANKS-- Dr. William R. Wood, president of the University of Alaska, flew to South Vietnam Saturday on another educational consulting assignment for the U.S. Agency for International Development.

This is Wood's third trip to South Vietnam in the past year and a half to assist the nation in upgrading its institutions of higher learning.

In South Vietnam, Wood is expected to consult with the minister of education and his staff and educators.

He plans to return to Alaska on April 28.
