All employees can call DirectPath for:answers to basic questions about COVID-19, current information on what COVID-19-related services are covered, and how, help preparing an action plan if they or a family member become ill and suspect it is COVID-19 and resources for further information about COVID-19.

Butrovich Building closed until further notice
March 27, 2020
Effective Tuesday, March 24, the Butrovich Building will remain locked at all times. Statewide employees are expected to work remotely as determined with your supervisor. In order to maintain the continuity of operations, only those employees previously designated by executive leadership, in conjunction with supervisor input, will be able to enter the building or remain working on site. Please contact your supervisor if you need to access any items that were left or forgotten or that may be necessary for sustained remote work, as you are not to go into the building to retrieve them yourself.

Did you know that in 2017 the education industry (which includes K-12 and higher education institutions) had 7,837,781 records breached in 35 events? To put that into perspective, the healthcare industry had 6,058,989 records breached in 428 events, and the retail industry had 123,652,526 records beached across 33 events.

Due to ongoing work to install a backup generator for the UA Data Center, there will be no power in the Butrovich building's first or second floors on April 10. Access to the building will be restricted to necessary data center staff, facilities crews and contractors.

By March 23, 2020, and until further notice, most of the University of Alaska’s Statewide office personnel at all locations will work remotely in order to inhibit community transmission of COVID-19. Limiting access to our facilities helps keep them safe for those few whose functions must still be performed there. Remote work is not an employee benefit or ‘time-off.’ Rather, it is intended to support these guiding operational principles as the university deals with COVID-19:

Butrovich conference room 204 new equipment training

Scott from Video Conferencing Services will be upgrading the equipment in the Butrovich Building's Sherman Carter conference room 204 next weekend. He will provide training on Monday, March 9 at 4 p.m., or Tuesday, March 10 at 11 a.m. or 4 p.m.

State of the University Address

University of Alaska President Jim Johnsen will present the State of the University address at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020. Johnsen will be the luncheon keynote speaker at the 6th Annual AlaskaCAN! Educational Equity Conference being held at the Marriott Anchorage Downtown hotel.
