Tammi Weaver leaves chief treasury officer position

May 27, 2022

Chief Treasury Officer Tamera “Tammi” Weaver has left her position with the University of Alaska after 29 years of service to the UA system.

Tammi has served as CTO and as the Education Trust of Alaska Trust administrator since 2017.

She began her university career in 1995 as the University of Alaska Foundation accounting manager, and also served as Cash Manager and Chief Investment Officer for the university throughout her nearly three decades of service.

Tammi grew up in Fairbanks, attending local schools and graduating from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, and following graduation, became a licensed Certified Public Accountant and worked with a CPA firm in Fairbanks for eight years before coming to the university.

Tammi has overseen unprecedented growth of the Education Trust of Alaska’s 529 plans, including five years of peak investment earnings. She’s received accolades from national ratings agencies. Some of her accomplishments include growing the assets under management to $11 billion, a historic high level of accounts, the addition of two new investment portfolios, and the launch of incentive programs aimed at growing the program and supporting the goals of account holders in collaboration with T. Rowe Price & John Hancock. Under her leadership Alaska 529 plans better serve Alaska and national investors.

We thank Tammi for her decades of service to the University of Alaska and wish her all the best.
