Lise-Marie Monroe
Lise-Marie Monroe started on March 10 as a Cost Analyst with UA’s Cost Analysis Department. In this position, she prepares the Fringe Benefit and F&A Cost Rate proposals for submission to the Office of Naval Research for all University of Alaska campuses.
Most recently, Monroe served as the Grant Fiscal Officer in the Central Administrative Fiscal Office. She oversaw and managed post-award activity for the sponsored projects within the following departments: Provost, Chancellor, General Studies and the School of Natural Resources & Extension at UAF.
Monroe was born in Sun Valley, Idaho but she grew up in the Seattle, Washington area. Her mom remarried when she was 14, and her step-dad (3rd generation Alaskan) moved their family to Fairbanks at that time.
She attended high school in Fairbanks, and left immediately upon graduation for college in the Midwest. Monroe attended Grinnell College,a liberal arts school in the small town of Grinnell, Iowa. She studied psychology with a concentration in Gender and Women's Studies. She also took extensive Math and Spanish in addition to core requirements.
She returned to Fairbanks ten years ago and has been here ever since. In her spare time, Monroe enjoys Latin dancing. She also speaks Spanish.
