UA Board of Regents to meet June 3-4
On June 3 and 4, there will be a meeting of the full University of Alaska Board of Regents to discuss issues including financial losses related to COVID-19, next steps for UA’s Alaska Native Success Initiative, establishing a consortium for the Alaska College of Education, board goals and measures, and, to hear committee reports and updates from UA Interim President Pat Pitney, university chancellors, and governance leaders. The board will discuss tuition rates for the 2023 academic year, and if the legislature has adopted an FY22 budget, the board will allocate the appropriation.
Regents also will take an in-depth look at the Blue Economy through a “Did You Know” video and presentation on the overall success of fisheries and ocean sciences programs across the UA system. And, President Pitney and the board will honor four outstanding employees with the “Staff Make Students Count” annual awards.
The June 3 meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and conclude by 5 p.m. and the June 4 meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and conclude by 1 p.m.
