University of Alaska System

At its most recent monthly meeting in April, the Statwide Administration Assembly approved amendments to its constitution and bylaws to change the group's name to System Office Staff Council.

 

There were two rationales for this change: To align with the recent renaming of staff who serve system-wide from "Statewide" to "System Office", and to align with equivalent campus governance groups, who all call themselves "Staff Council".

 

System Office Staff Council (aka SOSC or SO Staff Council) members are very excited about this change, as we believe it better represents our purpose, and will help reduce confusion of SOSC with other groups.
