Blooms brighten Butrovich Building

Three statewide employees added a bit more beauty to the Butrovich Building as part of #uafplantingday earlier this month.

“It’s so nice when you take a block of dirt and turn it into something beautiful,” said Myrna Crutcher. “It makes me feel happy to come to work and see bright colorful flowers in the flower bed.”

Crutcher, Morgan Dufseth and Dawn Lighthall volunteered for the 2019 campus flower planting day. They planted pansies, snapdragons, and cosmos in the flower bed in the front of the Butrovich Building.

Being a part of the team to provide beautification to the campus is my favorite part of #uafplantingday,” said Lighthall.

The flowers are purchased using private funds through the Ruth Hewitt Endowment, a fund that was set aside for landscaping and beautification of UAF’s Fairbanks campus.
