In addition to a teaching credential from the University of Northern Colorado, Laurie has an M.A. in curriculum and instruction, and a K-12 reading endorsement. She holds National Board Certification as an Early Adolescence Generalist. Her teaching experience in Alaska includes Hooper Bay, Scammon Bay, Atka, and Fairbanks. She has taught in every grade level, and has experience in single and multi-grade classrooms and as reading specialist and Title 1 facilitator.
