2008-2022
Brenda is a graduate of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Her 28 years
of teaching include two years of middle school language arts and 26 years of elementary
in Alaska. Her Alaskan teaching has been with the Pribilof Islands School District,
the North Slope Borough School District and the Mat-Su Borough School District. She
loves every subject in the elementary curriculum. She has been very involved with
salmon raising in the classroom through the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, along
with Reading is Fundamental grants.
"One of the many great aspects of teaching is knowing that you can have a positive
impact on every child. Finding the key to unlock success in every student can be challenging,
but very rewarding. I am so excited to serve as a mentor this year and work with beginning
teachers so that together we can bring about success for everyone involved."
