A Fond Farewell To Departing Staff

Happy retirement Michelle! UA Finance staff celebrate the retirement of Michelle Woods after 39 years at the university. Photos by Sheri Billiot

Michelle Woods celebrated her last day at Statewide June 26 after 39 years with the university. She will be missed, personally and professionally, as the “go-to” person for accounting questions at the University’s Controller’s office. They say no one is irreplaceable, but we beg to differ! Michelle not only knew the answers, she was a pleasure to work with and could be relied upon to recommend thoughtful solutions that benefited the university as a whole.

Amanda Straight, Foundation Fund and Gift Services Manager in Fairbanks, has been hired as the new UAF Alumni Association Membership and Events Coordinator. Her last day with the UA Foundation was July 24. It has truly been a pleasure working with Amanda, she will be missed, but she is not too far away, with Alumni Relations! The Fairbanks Fund and Gift Services Manager position has been posted on UAK Jobs, under posting #0070911.
Eric Muehling is retiring in September, 2015, after a 36-year association with UAF and UA. He has accepted an invitation to join the Peace Corps and will serve in Micronesia.
For UA Statewide he has worked for the K-12 Outreach Office. Eric has taught more than 40 classes as an adjunct for the UAF Departments of Journalism and Art, and served a one-year faculty appointment with the Department of Journalism. Before UAF, he worked 10 years as a photojournalist for the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
