SW Transformation Team update: Functional org chart review and feedback opportunity
The Statewide Transformation team has developed a functional org chart for the system office based on written submissions and interviews with the president’s direct reports as well as SW budget and staffing data. The team is now reviewing each activity in relation to the essential roles of Statewide and making recommendations on whether those activities should continue without change, move to a university, reorganize within Statewide or be discontinued.
Statewide staff are invited to review the functional org chart in light of the mission goals and potential for change and submit their feedback to the Transformation Team. The Transformation Team will be sharing their initial findings with the Summit Team August 4 with a final report anticipated in the September-October timeframe.
The functional org chart, supporting documents and additional information can be found on the Transformation Team website: https://www.alaska.edu/swbir/transformation-team/

FY2015 Wellness Rebate Fulfillment
FY16 began on July 1, which means that the wellness rebate you earned during FY15 has started to be paid-out. The wellness rebate acts to off-set the UA Choice Health plan costs and will display as ‘WRB’ on your paystub. If you are a 12-month employee and are currently paying for the UA Choice Health plan, the first rebate was applied on the July 10th paycheck. Moving forward, the rebates will continue to be paid-out in bi-weekly increments in accordance with your health insurance deductions and pay schedule.
If you have any additional questions or notice any discrepancies, please contact the University’s program manager from Healthyroads, Sara Rodewald at: 450-8203 or sararo@ashn.com. Your local HR may be able to assist too when searching for the rebate on your paystub.
myTRACK Photo Contest Launched July 2015
The myTRACK campaign has gone live for 2015. The campaign starts during the summer so campuses can promote it at orientation and fall semester kickoff events. The contest will run through October 31. The grand prize is two tickets on Alaska Airlines. There is an additional prize as well - a student-requested voting component where the student with the highest number of votes for their photo will get a $250 Amazon gift card.
In the contest, students post a “selfie,” or self-portrait, to UA’s Facebook contest site indicating with their fingers how many years it will take to earn their degrees. The contest is part of UA’s annual Stay on TRACK campaign, now in its fifth year, which encourages students to take steps graduate quicker and with less debt.
UA’s efforts to encourage full-time students to take additional credits have made a difference. Students who attempted 15 or more credit hours had a higher credit hour completion rate than those who attempted less than 15 credit hours. In the long term, students who attempt and earn at least 15 credit hours a semester perform significantly better than full-time students who take less than 15 credit hours a semester.
