In retirement, Gramstad plans on spending time relaxing at first, spoiling her granddaughter, working on her mandolin music and picking up the ‘pocket saxaphone.’ She wants to get into the habit of sleeping in until 8 a.m. and not going out into the cold if she doesn’t want to. There will be gardening and playing in the dirt, traveling and enjoying life with family and friends.

As Alaska Teacher Placement (ATP) Manager, Toni McFadden works in collaboration with Alaska School Districts to recruit and hire educators for the 54 school districts in Alaska. ATP hosts three job fairs, in and out of the state, holds online chats and virtual job fairs for information about teaching and living in Alaska, hosts an online application process for educators and districts, supports an online forum, webpage and provides support for educators. All services are free to educators looking for teaching positions in Alaska.

McFadden worked for the Fairbanks School district for the last 29 years. She taught elementary school for 17 years, was a principal for eight years, and was the Response to Instruction/Intervention Coordinator at the district office for four years.

She was born in California, but most of her childhood was between Kansas and Alaska. She's lived in Alaska full time since 1981.

McFadden studied at UAF and received her bachelor's degree in education in 1985. She received her master's degree in language and literacy and got her public school administration certification through UAF.

She is married to Dave Moser, and they have five children. She enjoys quilting, stained glass work, baking, reading and traveling.
