Linda Toth is the newest technical lead of the Identity Access Management department of the Office of Information and Technology. Toth began the position on Nov. 19.�

Prior to her new position, Toth worked for OIT Core Applications and the Alaska Satellite Facility as the development supervisor.

Toth was born and raised in California. Although she was born in the Central Valley, she lived near the region of the border near Oregon that stretches down to the San Diego County. She spent most of her adult life in Colorado until moving to Alaska in 2006.

For her undergraduate degree, Toth attended the University of California, San Diego, and attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, for her master’s degree in computer science. During her education, she received a teaching certificate in secondary education for math and history and a bachelor’s degree in history.

Toth’s husband is the director of performance operations at UAF’s Davis Concert Hall. Teresa, her daughter, and Jamie, son-in-law, are affiliated with Long Term Ecological Research and other cooperative ventures between UAF and USDA. Her son, Lorien, is the news producer at KTNA, Talkeetna Public Radio.

In her free time, Toth supports sled dog racing kennels in the interior. She has two champion Dobermans, one of which is on the way to being a grand champion. Though she has yet to enter a trial, she hopes to do so in the spring. Toth also reads and enjoys computer games for fun.

Academic Affairs is pleased to announce that LaNora Tolman has been hired as the governance executive officer; she begins that new role on Dec. 3. A search committee comprised of representatives from each of the governance groups completed the recruitment and screening and recommended Tolman for the position. Tolman had previously worked as the accreditation and assessment coordinator at UAF. Please welcome Tolman to her new role.

Tolman was born and raised in Sacramento, Calif. until she moved to Alaska with her parents in 1974. She lived in Delta Junction until 1995 when she moved to Fairbanks with her husband, Michael, and their three children Abraham, Noah and Hosanna.

After arriving in Fairbanks, Tolman began working for the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. In 2005,�she joined the staff at UAF as the office coordinator for the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections at the Rasmuson Library. In December of 2009, she took the position of accreditation and assessment coordinator in the UAF Provost’s Office.

Tolman graduated from UAF with an associate degree�in spring 2009. She is�currently�working on her bachelor’s degree in psychology with�a target graduation�date of fall 2013.
