BOR approves new pay grid

At its meeting on September 25, the Board of Regents unanimously approved the proposed modifications to the staff compensation grid. The newly approved grid will not be implemented until June 2010.� More information will be available before that time to explain the renumbering of the steps and to let you know whether and by how much your hourly rate of pay will increase. No one will experience a reduction of pay; the average amount of increase will be 12 cents per hour.

IHP Phase III begins October 5

Phase III of the Individualized Health Planning sessions (IHPs) will begin October 5. Take advantage of the series of six face-to-face health planning sessions for no out-of-pocket cost. The IHP program is another great benefit of UA Health in Action.

Program participation is limited. There are approximately 870 spots available for staff and faculty in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.

Participants get the opportunity to meet with an experienced wellness consultant and develop a healthy lifestyle plan. Whether your needs include weight management or stress reduction the trained wellness consultants can help you be successful.

The IHP program features conveenient times and on-campus locations. The program is open to both new and past participants. Registration began September 1. Sessions begin October 5.

Weight Watchers special promotion

Weight Watchers will be beginning its 6th series of meetings on campus starting October 13, 2009.

�We have been going strong since January 2008, and have lost close to 2000 pounds!

�Meetings are held in the Vice Chancellor’s Conference room in the Administrative Services Center.
