The University of Alaska’s Community Campuses train tomorrow’s workforce today. There are nearly 21,000
students across the entire UA system — 8,900 are students of Community Campuses or Community and
Technical Colleges, 43% totaling of the entire UA student body.

The University of Alaska's community campuses play a pivotal role in serving the entire state, ensuring access to
postsecondary education for Alaskans in remote and rural areas. These campuses provide tailored educational
programs that address local needs, offering career and technical education, certificates, and associate degrees
that are directly aligned with regional industries. By fostering local talent, these campuses contribute significantly
to the workforce, preparing students for careers in high-demand industries or to continue their education on a
more advanced postsecondary pathway. Their emphasis on practical, skills-based education not only enhances
employment opportunities for graduates but also drives economic growth and resilience across Alaska's diverse
communities. The community campuses of each university within the UA System create a pipeline of skilled
professionals who are equipped to meet the state's evolving workforce demands.
