Recently the Google shared drive feature was enabled for all Google apps users at UA. Google shared drives let people collaborate on projects, store files with document version control, and access their files anywhere, from any device.

OIT changing antivirus solutions

In an effort to reduce costs while improving services, starting June 8th OIT will begin changing Antivirus solutions. After June 8th, Symantec Endpoint Protection will be uninstalled from university-owned computers.

OIT announces the arrival of webcams and headsets for students, staff, and faculty who may be in need while working away from the office. Webcams are available for loan and will need to be returned when they are no longer needed. Headsets may be kept, free of charge, by the user.

Due to the sudden increase in Zoom demand spurred by COVID-19 pandemic, a 90-day security overhaul was announced by the company back in April. As a result, Zoom version 5.0 has recently been released. In order to avoid any disruptions in meeting accessibility, Zoom users are required to upgrade to this latest version by May 30th.
