    Dr. X̱'unei Lance Twitchell, Professor of Alaska Native Languages at the University of Alaska Southeast, won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Preschool Animated Series at the 2025 Children's & Family Emmy® Awards on March 15 in Los Angeles.

    Nelson Crone, a longtime Alaskan and University of Alaska Fairbanks graduate, has been named director of the UAF Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center in Palmer.

    His retirement concludes four years of service to UAA and the University of Alaska. During his tenure, he emphasized UAA's role as a key educator of Alaska's workforce while maintaining affordability and accessibility for students. In retirement, he plans to spend more time with family and friends, research, write, and continue coaching and teaching emerging leaders.

    Dr. Twitchell is a writer and advisor for the animated PBS Kids program Molly of Denali, nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for the third annual Children's & Family Emmy® Awards. The awards ceremonies are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on March 15, 2025.
