Alaska Statewide Mentor Project
Our statewide mentors serve new teachers across all of Alaska
The Alaska Statewide Mentor Project exists to lift up and support the profession of
teaching in Alaska. The project provides individualized support to first- and second-year
teachers, developing an effective teaching force that is responsive to the diverse
academic needs and cultural backgrounds of all students.
ASMP WebsiteAlaska Teachers & Personnel
AT&P works with school districts and educators to fill open positions in our Alaskan
Schools
AT&P was established in 1978 as a partnership between school districts, and the University of Alaska to serve as a statewide education job clearinghouse for Alaska.
For over 38 years AT&P has matched teachers, administrators and other personnel seeking positions with the districts who need them.
Educators Rising Alaska
Our program encourages JR/SR High Alaska students to become educators
Educators Rising Alaska is part of Educators Rising, a national membership organization for aspiring teachers and their mentors.
Through training, mentoring and national competitions, students are challenged to present as a teacher
Place-Based Education Curriculum
Place-based, culturally-relevant science curriculum, learning to adapt to a changing
climate
This currently dormant program seeks to provide Native students and their teachers
with accurate, culturally relevant science curriculum that improves student achievement
on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) assessments, and trains
Native youth to propose solutions to local climate change problems. The philosophy
of these past grants continues to influence our other programs, ensuring awareness
of place-based curriculum.
