Libby Roderick receives 2022 Bullock Prize

The University of Alaska Foundation Board of Directors has awarded the 2022 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence to Libby Roderick. Roderick, who has been a UAA staff member since 2006, is the director of the Difficult Dialogues Initiative and associate director of the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence. Roderick received the award Wednesday during the Foundation's board meeting in Fairbanks.

The University of Alaska Foundation Board of Directors is accepting nominations for the 2023 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence. The prize, which includes a $20,000 award, is presented to an individual who demonstrates excellence in support of the University of Alaska.

Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant Applications Due by December 12

Scientists within the University of Alaska system, including graduate students and faculty members, are eligible to apply for the Angus Gavin Memorial Migratory Bird Research Grant that is now open for 2023 field season proposals. The application deadline is December 12, 2022. There are two $15,000 awards available.

Northrim Bank makes a major investment in UA's three universities

A major, long-time supporter of the University of Alaska system, Northrim Bank, has gifted $259,500 to fund UA initiatives that advance research about Alaska's economy and fiscal policy, expand business education and build entrepreneurship capacity. Northrim's donation also includes funding to five community campuses where Northrim employees live and work.
