2004-2007

The second phase of Alaska EPSCoR, from 2004-2007, continued and modified three of the initial research focus areas:

  1. Cold Regions Engineering;
  2. Integrative Approaches to Environmental Physiology; and
  3. Population Genetics of Adaptation to Arctic Environments.

The Regional Resilience and Adaptation supplement became a developmental research focus in this phase, and core support for Bioinformatics continued.

The 56 faculty members in this phase, including Regional Resilience and Adaptation faculty, received over 110 federal, state and private awards for a total of more than $29 million and published over 175 refereed articles
