I had an opportunity to travel south for family matters this month and enjoyed some desert photography while in the Southwest. Enjoy warm vistas! - Monique
The Parker Dam holds back the Colorado River to create Lake Havasu on the border of Arizona and California.
The London Bridge was dismanteled, moved to Lake Havasu in 1967, and reassembled by 1971 across the Colorado River to an island community.
A park near the bridge celebrates the connection with the city of London.

The Hoover Dam was constructed between 1931 and 1936, during the Great Depression. The dam's generators provide power for public and private utilities in Nevada, Arizona, and California.
The Hoover Dam is a major tourist attraction; nearly a million people tour the dam each year.
Lake Meade, created by the Colorado River behind the Hoover Dam, has the largest water capacity of any reservoir in the Univted States. It provides water resources for Arizona, California and Nevada.
