Farewell Julie Benson!

Julie Benson accepted a position at Alaska INBRE starting Monday, July 28th. Her last day in the President's Suite was July 26. While sorry to leave the position as coordinator for the Offices of the President and Board of Regents, Alaska INBRE (IDEA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence) offers an excellent opportunity for Benson professionally.

Her new contact information as of Monday will be 474-1104 and the new office location is Murie 223A. The President's Office and Board of Regents' Office will open a recruitment in the next 60 days for this position.� If you know someone who might be interested in this position as part of the dynamic team in the President's Suite, please suggest that they watch the website for the recruitment.

Stacy Pense joins benefits team

UA Human Resources is welcoming their newest benefits accountant Stacy Pense. Pense comes to UA from Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union where she was a Member Services Officer II.

Born in Rapid City, SD, Pense gew up as a military dependent. However she's spent most of her life in Anchorage, AK, Salinas, CA and Fairbanks, AK.

Pense enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys gardening, crafts such as stamping, scrapbooking or sewing, as well as reading.

Daisy Saffir new to the Anchorage claims office

Risk Services is happy to announce that Daisy Saffir joined the Anchorage claims office on July 15 in the position of Senior Claims Adjuster.� Saffir is filling the position vacated by the retirement of Yvonne Boyce in April.

Saffir is a licensed adjuster with over 15 years of claims experience, specializing in workers' compensation and litigation management.� She's a native of New York and has made Anchorage her home since 2005.

Samantha Stanbrough gives student perspective to SES

Samantha Stanbrough is the newest addition to the Student Enrollment Services team as a student assistant. She will be focusing on the social media aspect of the Stay on TRACK program and other enrollment services outreach. Stanbrough will be making weekly posts on the University’s Facebook page as a Student Ambassador of Media, giving a student perspective. These posts are meant to encourage students to partake in the Stay on TRACK program which provides advice on how to graduate on time. She will also maintain UAOnline student feedback, work on outreach efforts and help out with various projects.

Stanbrough is currently studying Child Development and Family Studies through UAF’s College of Rural and Community Development.

She spends her free time playing softball, geocaching and spending time with family. As of recent Stanbrough has started to play ice hockey and was part of UAF’s intramural league.
