Office of Workforce Development

Teri Cothren, formerly of UA Corporate Programs, has joined UA Statewide Academic Affairs' Office of Workforce Programs as project manager. She brings her experience from UACP and as a business owner into her new role, as well as her strengths in project management and workforce development.

Cothren was born at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and has mostly lived in Oregon or Alaska. Cothren first moved to Alaska at 7 when her dad became a professor for the UAA School of Engineering. This is now her third time living in Alaska, having moved back in July 2011 from Ontario, Oregon.

Cothren earned a bachelor degree in psychology at UAA and has completed three graduate courses in project management since returning to Alaska.

Her main interest outside of work is tied to the university. She is working with the UAA Athletic Department and also getting involved with the UAA Alumni Relations office. This includes working with current UAA students to increase their interest in campus activities/events with the intention to create more ties to their UAA experience so they will want to remain involved after graduating. Cothren spent many years on the UAA campus as a child, college student and now employee. She wants the university to flourish and to be part of its growth.
