Laura Frisone joins OIT

Laura Frisone is the new andministrative and event coordinator for the Office of Information Technology. For the past eight years she has been a program coordinator for a local federally funded Head Start program.

Frisone was born and grew up in Sioux Falls, S.D., but moved to Fairbanks from Minnesota over eight years ago. She attended Minnesota State University Moorhead where she received a bachelor’s degree in social work.

Laura is married to Justin Frisone who is from the Fairbanks area. Frisone enjoys spending time with family and friends here locally and those in the Lower 48 by the occasional visit, phone and Skype. She also likes to create Snapfish photo books and cook.

OIT welcomes Thomas J. Mattingly

When users experience computer problems, Thomas Mattingly is part of the group that fixes them, either over the phone or in person, and helps keep technology working at the university.

Prior to coming to UA, Mattingly worked for 13 years at the North Pole Refinery (currently owned by Flint Hills Resources) as a senior infrastructure analyst. He supported applications, workstations, servers, printers— just about anything with an electric cord attached.

Mattingly was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nev. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor's in management information systems. He is certified in Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator Security Plus, and learned a lot from on-the-job training.

Thomas and wife Melody have six children. He enjoys family, camping, church and planes.
