Please join the UA Foundation in congratulating Candice Krupa on her new role of prospect research and management director. Krupa has been with the UA Foundation for about two years now. She started as a student in 2008 and it quickly became clear she was a star performer. In her new role, Krupa will focus on partnering with development officers across the UA system to leverage financial support of the university. She'll do this by providing research, advice on strategy, training, prospect management, and sharing her knowledge with other fundraising professionals in Alaska as one of the most experienced prospect researchers in the state. Congratulations Candice and thanks for your hard work!!

Administrative Coordinator
Systems Governance Office

Kim Fackler is serving as Administrative Coordinator in the Systems Governance Office and supports the efforts of the System Governance Council, the Staff Alliance, the Coalition of Student Leaders, and the Faculty Alliance to be engaged in the university system’s decision-making processes. She is excited to be part of the System Governance team and to learn more about advocacy.

Fackler brings a Journalism B.A. (UAA, 1993), a Biology B.S. (UAF, 2006), four years of project management and communication experience, and four years of science-support experience to her work here. She has observed the power of clear communication in opening minds and improving operations in industry and science projects.

Fackler is a second-generation Army kid. Her family lived in Germany and in many different Lower 48 states before moving to Alaska when she was a teenager. She completed high school in Anchorage while her father was posted to Fort Richardson; Alaska has felt like home ever since. After high school Kim studied and worked in Germany and then returned to Alaska to complete her Journalism degree. Technical writing work took Kim to Canada and Washington state.

In 2003 Kim decided to pursue her interest in the outdoors by studying science and moving to Fairbanks. Since then Kim has conducted biology technician work for a variety of organizations in Alaskan locations including work on Fort Wainwright lands, Denali National Park and Preserve, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and most recently on the sea ice in Barrow. Kim enjoys hiking, canoeing, doing Tai Chi, juggling, and dancing (Tango, Salsa, Afro-Cuban).
