The Remote Sensing Network is an interdisciplinary R&D program that builds instruments for viewing, recording, and communicating across great distance. Students have the opportunity to work with our industry partners, building remote sensing hardware (satellites, telescopes, cameras, sensors, and antennas) as well as testing software that coordinates these autonomous processes. Experimental applications of the technologies involve climate data modeling, asset insurance, remote coordination, and urban analytics.
Partnerships with this program include U.S. Department of Defense, Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation, and others in the space and telecommunications industries.
