The FabX Lab at the University of Alaska leads research into fabrication for rural and community development. FabX Lab explores digital and physical fabrication technologies, from metamaterials to gene therapies, to 3D printed food and medicines. It leads the way in preparing Alaskan communities for food sovereignty and self-sufficiency overall.
Partnerships include the Fab Lab Foundation, Cold Climate Housing Research Center, Alaska Housing and Finance Corporation, and regional housing authorities.
