Update on the United Academics CBA Negotiations

Dear university community,
On July 28, 2022, through the mediation process, our bargaining team received a proposal from the UNAC faculty union responding to the proposal the administration offered on July 11. I am encouraged by this latest UNAC proposal, which reflects good progress in our joint efforts to come to an agreement.
The UNAC proposal offered last week suggests agreement on most of the monetary issues, and while there is still work to be done on several key non-monetary areas, I believe that for the first time in 11 months there’s a path forward for both parties to come to agreement.
Our bargaining team is working on a response to the UNAC proposal, with the next mediation session scheduled for August 22.
For nearly a year, we’ve been at the bargaining table working hard to find common ground with our full-time faculty union. Although both parties have strongly held positions, it is my hope that we can come together on the remaining issues in the very near future.
