UAS serves as host for IRONMAN triathlon this weekend
UAS is a proud partner, in conjunction with the City & Borough of Juneau and other local, state and federal entities, to host the first ever IRONMAN triathlon in AK. IRONMAN announced their selection of Juneau to serve as a host city in August 2021 from the UAS dock in Auke Lake.
UAS has been working with Travel Juneau and IRONMAN staff for the last year to prepare for the race. This is a full triathlon, with a 2.4 mile swim in Auke Lake, a 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run.
The race begins at 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 7, and will end at midnight on Monday, August 8. Athletes will cross the finish in the UAS courtyard in front of the whale statue. For more information contact Lori Klein, Vice Chancellor, at 907-796-6057.
