UAF honored for commitment to first-gen students
The University of Alaska Fairbanks has been recognized by the Center for First-generation Student Success for the university’s work with students who are the first in their family to graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
UAF received the First-Gen Forward designation from the center, which recognizes higher-ed institutions that have demonstrated a commitment to improving experiences and advancing outcomes for first-generation college students. UAF’s First-Gen AK initiative is a program to celebrate accomplishments and build community among first-gen students, faculty and staff.
Selected First-Gen Forward institutions have access to professional development, blog development, goal setting, annual reporting, and more.
