Title IX training now available
The University of Alaska (UA) is committed to providing a safe and respectful campus environment, free from discrimination as required by Title IX, through ongoing efforts in training and prevention. Updated student and new employee training modules were developed to include the new changes to UA’s Title IX policy and regulations, based on new federal regulations.
Students* are required to complete UA Safe Title IX training annually. Training opened Sep. 1, and is available through UA Safe on Blackboard. The deadline for students is October 31, 2020.
*degree seeking, living in campus housing, middle college students enrolled at the university, or on national/international exchange who have not completed the training since July 1, 2020.
Employees are required to complete Title IX training each fiscal year. The training is now available, which you can access through MyUA. The employee deadline for training is September 30, 2020.
The training includes how to recognize and identify sexual discrimination and sexual harassment, how to file a report and how the university responds to allegations, including a list of relevant resources.
