Nominations open for Staff Make Student Count Awards
Staff members lay the foundation for just about every aspect of student success. That’s
why the University of Alaska recognizes university staff who provide outstanding service to students anywhere in
the system with the Staff Make Students Count Award.
Nominations for the award are open until Monday, March 16. Every year the Staff Make Students
Count awards honor one staff member each from Statewide, University of Alaska Fairbanks,
University of Alaska Anchorage, and the University of Alaska Southeast, provided there
are eligible nominations from each one.
The honorees will be recognized by President Jim Johnsen at an upcoming Board of Regents
meeting. Recipients each receive an award plaque, $1,000 and two domestic airline
vouchers. All nominees receive a certificate of nomination. The Staff Make Students
Count Award is open to full-time and part-time, permanent, exempt and non-exempt staff,
employed by the University of Alaska.
Applications for award must include:
- Letter of nomination and rationale for nomination.
- Completed nomination form.
- At least three letters of endorsement from those knowledgeable of the contribution
made by the applicant/nominee.
- Letters from students are encouraged.
