Six New Board Members Join the University of Alaska Foundation
The University of Alaska Foundation has named six new members to its Board of Directors, each of whom was elected to serve a three-year term beginning in January 2021.
The new directors include: Stephanie Erickson, Greater Prudhoe Area Manager, ConocoPhillips Alaska; Jason Gootee, Vice President, Strategic Market Development, Moda Partners, Inc.; Ella Goss, Chief Executive Officer, Providence Alaska Medical Center; Roald Helgesen, Chief Operating Officer, Central Council of Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska; Brian Holst, Executive Director, Juneau Economic Development Council; and, Tim Thompson, External Affairs Manager, Alaska Airlines.
“We look forward to welcoming our new directors who bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the Foundation and will provide valuable insight into the people, culture and industry of Alaska. The diversity of our new directors will further the Foundation’s mission to support the university through philanthropic giving,” said Cynthia Cartledge, Board of Directors chair.
“We have incredible leadership at the UA Foundation through our board made up of outstanding donors, alumni and community leaders. As we strive to raise more philanthropic support for our three universities, the board’s guidance and support is a tremendous asset,” said Dr. Tod Burnett, UA Foundation president.
The volunteer board is responsible for the governance of the UA Foundation and is comprised of 20 public members, the UA president, two members of the Board of Regents, and chancellors from UAA, UAF and UAS. The UA Foundation is a private nonprofit corporation established in 1974 to solicit, manage and invest donations for the exclusive benefit of the University of Alaska. The UA Foundation supports the fundraising efforts of UAA, UAF and UAS.
