University of Alaska Board of Regents to meet in Juneau Sept. 8-9

Who: University of Alaska Board of Regents

What: During this two-day meeting, the board will discuss preliminary FY24 budget proposals in line with university priorities, as well as approving final distribution of the FY23 budget as signed in June by the Governor. Regents also will take a first look at tuition policy changes and the 10-year capital investment plan. On Friday morning, regents will discuss dual enrollment opportunities, which allow high school students to simultaneously earn college credits while completing high school graduation requirements as part of the ongoing ‘Did You Know’ series.

When:  Thursday, Sept. 8,  8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
                  Friday, Sept. 9, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Where: Student Recreation Center, Room 116, at the University of Alaska Southeast Juneau campus. 

The meeting, with the exception of any executive sessions, is public and will be livestreamed on the University of Alaska Board of Regents website

The University of Alaska Board of Regents is an 11-member volunteer board, appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Alaska State Legislature. Members serve an 8-year term, with the exception of the student regent who is nominated from his/her campus and serves a 2-year term. The board was established through the Alaska Constitution and is responsible for University of Alaska policy and management through the university president.
