John Wanamaker hired as Chief Innovation Officer
The University of Alaska has appointed John Wanamaker as Chief Innovation Officer. In this position, he works with the president and chancellors to coordinate and champion entrepreneurship, innovation and commercialization efforts across the system.
“John is a skilled Alaskan entrepreneur,” said President Jim Johnsen. “He is the ideal person to lead the way of bringing the fruit of our research to the market, benefitting UA, our faculty, and our state’s economy.”
An accomplished founder and CEO, Wanamaker has launched profitable companies ranging from: wireless communication, aerospace launch vehicles, electronic monitored security, real estate development and angel investing.
