Susan Anderson named 2021 WICHE chair

Susan Anderson, UA Foundation Development Committee member, has been elected as the 2021 chair of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). The commission is an interstate compact of Western states and territories that works collaboratively to expand educational access/excellence, and to develop  a robust slate of programs, research, and policy work to strengthen higher education, workforce opportunities, and behavioral health throughout the region.

“I’m extremely honored to be representing Alaska on the Commission and am proud to accept the role of chair,” Anderson said.... “I’m looking forward to continuing our work aiding the students of our region, especially those who are underserved.”

Anderson, who has served on the UA Foundation's board for nine years, was elected unanimously to chair WICHE. She is the President/CEO of The CIRI Foundation and in addition to serving on the UA Foundation's Development Committee, she also serves on the board of the Alaska Children’s Trust.
