Sean Hagan named new Chief Information Security Officer

OIT would like to announce that Sean Hagan has accepted the position of Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Alaska System effective Monday May 24. Sean comes to the UA System having previously served 17 years at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, most recently as the Chief Information Security Officer.

Sean was at Yavapai College in Arizona for five years, and spent another 12 there as Manager of Web Services, supporting enterprise applications and information security and identity efforts.  Before higher education, Sean spent several years working in K-12 information technology.  He earned his bachelor's degree at Northern Arizona University.

Outside of work, Sean enjoys spending time outdoors and can often be found on local hiking trails with his dog or behind the lens of a camera trying to capture interesting scenery and wildlife.  He has a strong affinity for aviation and travel and hopes to one day finish his pilot's license.  Closer to home, Sean likes (but is not accomplished at) gardening, pool, and working on various home improvement projects."

Sean will initially be working remotely but eventually based in Fairbanks.  He will be on site for his first visit June 1-11.
