Pitney celebrates one-year UA anniversary

Dear UA Community,
It’s hard to believe it has been a full year since I began serving the University of Alaska as interim president. I want to thank all of you -- faculty, staff and our incredible students -- for your hard work and dedication over this past year.
I share some thoughts on our progress, our challenges and some highlights for the year to come in this 4-minute one-year anniversary video. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.
In my message I thank the UA community; recognize the extraordinary effort of our researchers; share positive news on first-time student enrollment trends; highlight efforts to streamline administrative functions and our work on equity and diversity; and, discuss the role of our three universities and community campuses in re-energizing the Alaska economy.
Thank you for the extraordinary efforts this past year and I look forward to working together toward our shared goals in the coming year and in continuing to lead this state towards new economic prosperity.
