Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski meets with UA Interim President Pat Pitney and UAA Chancellor Sean Parnell

Last month Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski took time to meet with University of Alaska interim President Pat Pitney and University of Alaska Anchorage Chancellor Sean Parnell to talk about future goals for the University of Alaska including the critical role our universities play in Alaska's economic recovery through higher education, research, and workforce development.
“We had a good conversation about a number of their priorities for the next year including funding for University programs, infrastructure initiatives, and their support for the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies -– specifically how we are leveraging opportunities to support Alaska’s global strategic location while providing Alaska’s future leaders with quality education and skills to support the Alaskan economy,” Murkowski said in a social media post following the meeting.
We appreciate Senator Murkowski’s dedication and work to support the future of higher education in Alaska.
