Cassidy Hobbs named Assistant Director of Federal Relations for D.C. office
The federal relations office is pleased to announce that Cassidy Hobbs has been hired as the Assistant Director of Federal Relations for the University of Alaska System. Her main duties will include maintaining communication and relationships with federal officials, sharing UA’s priorities, and monitoring and sharing information with key stakeholders regarding relevant legislation or agency decisions that may affect the university system.
Hobbs began working in Senator Murkowski’s office in 2018 as a staff assistant in her Anchorage office, assisting with constituent casework. In 2020, she moved to the Senator’s D.C. office and most recently had been working as a legislative aide on issues and policies relating to public health and social services, and interfacing with constituents and other federal partners.
Hobbs was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and attended South Anchorage High School. She earned her bachelor’s in biochemistry and biology at PLU, and will be finishing up her Master’s in Public Health and a Graduate Certificate in Children’s Mental Health this academic year at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The life-long Alaskan enjoys spending time outdoors, finding good coffee shops, and spending time with family.
