November 15, 2024
Any student, faculty, alumni, staff or volunteer who has made a significant contribution to further the university’s mission of inspiring learning, and advancing and disseminating knowledge through teaching, research, and public service is eligible for nomination for the Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence. The prize includes a $20,000 award.
Nominations - the 2025 application period is open through December 19, 2024 (Note: any material submitted after midnight of the deadline date will be considered for the following year's prize (2026)). Submit nominations online or via email to Dory Straight at dory.straight@alaska.edu. Only complete nomination packets will be considered.
Background - The prize was established in 1988 with a generous gift from the late Edith R. Bullock, who was a member of Alaska’s Territorial House of Representatives, Territorial Senate, the University Board of Regents, Alaska Business Hall of Fame, and an Alaskan of the Year.
Selection Committee Primary Criteria:
- Most important is the impact of the nominee's work on the university and the broader community. Any student, faculty, staff member or volunteer can be nominated, regardless of longevity within the UA system, so long as they have furthered the university’s mission.
