Michelle Pope, Director of UA HR Operations, recently accepted a position as IT Process Change Manager for the new Self Service 9 (SS9) project with OIT. Michelle’s years of experience in project management and almost 20 years of direct Banner usage with HR, Finance and Student modules positions her to take UA to the next level with self service of Banner.
Michelle leaves a solid foundation for UA HR Operations having been on the ground level during the HR transition in 2019 and has streamlined services and processes including the Remote Work Project. “Michelle has been instrumental in the implementation of many changes for UA HR and I am thrilled that UA continues to be able to benefit from her expertise and talents. Michelle’s last day at UA HR is August 25 and I, along with Michelle and Ben Shier, Chief Information Technology Officer, are in alignment to ensure a seamless transition”, states CHRO Dahl.
When asked about the accomplishments she is most proud of during her tenure, Michelle responded, “I am most proud of having a role in creating an inclusive, high-performing team that focuses on excellent customer service. It is the people that make up the university and the UA HR team has been my family for many years. I value the relationships that I have developed over the years.”
UA HR thanks Michelle for the incredible contributions she provided to UA HR and we wish her the best of luck with a two year commitment to a project that is vital to the University of Alaska.
